'The Golden Couple'

Sascha Kindred and Nyree Lewis, otherwise known as the 'golden couple' of disabled sport, are two of Great Britain's most successful paralympians of the last decade, amassing 20 Paralympic medals between them including an amazing 8 golds. BRITAIN IN FINAL CUT FOR 2010 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS20

Great Britain has been confirmed as one of three nations in the running to host the 2010 IPC Swimming World Championships.

Following an expression of interest submitted by British Swimming in December, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced Sheffield as one of three candidate cities. But the host of the 1993 European Swimming Championships and 1996 World Masters Swimming Championships faces stiff competition from 2007 European Swimming Championships hosts Eindhoven (Holland) and Minneapolis (USA).

It would be aamazing if Sheffield did get the World Championships and surely we have a great chance. Sheffield is a proven place to hold major championships and would provide our athletes with an ideal chance to warm up for the London 2012 Paralympics. Bring it on!
