'The Golden Couple'

Sascha Kindred and Nyree Lewis, otherwise known as the 'golden couple' of disabled sport, are two of Great Britain's most successful paralympians of the last decade, amassing 20 Paralympic medals between them including an amazing 8 golds. I am the brother of Sascha and am tracking their progress from Athens 2004 to London 2012. Read about their journey to Paralympic Glory here!

Sascha and Nyree make GB Squad for Beijing

Yes, as expected, Sascha and Nyree have made the GB Squad for Beijing this summer. Even though it was expected, it's great to hear that final confirmation so that they can now fully focus on training for the event and peaking at the right time. And of course, it's also great news for me and my friends who are going out to support them and the rest of the GB swimming team.

Sascha spoke about the confirmation saying, "I think the experience I have gained from the previous Games will help this year," said Kindred, who won gold in the SM6 200 IM and SB7 100m breaststroke in Athens and who will be appearing in his fourth Paralympics in Beijing.

"My first Games in Atlanta was a real shock and I didn't know how to prepare myself for competition but now I know how to stay focused on the task in hand.

"I am looking forward to being able to pass on my knowledge and experience to the younger athletes."
